Arsenal have strengthened their squad ahead of the new season with the signing of Greece international Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge in a deal reportedly worth £34 million.
The 24-year-old attacker has signed a five-year contract at the Emirates Stadium, becoming the Gunners’ third permanent arrival of the summer transfer window. His arrival comes after Leandro Trossard’s departure to Besiktas, with Arsenal moving quickly to reinforce their attacking options.
Tzolis joins Mikel Arteta’s side just days after Arsenal narrowly missed out on Morgan Rogers, who instead completed a record-breaking move to Chelsea. The Gunners have now turned their attention to a player they believe can bring creativity, versatility and goals to their frontline.
The Greek international enjoyed an impressive spell with Club Brugge, scoring 43 goals in 108 appearances. He also faced Arsenal in last season’s UEFA Champions League, featuring in the Belgian club’s 3-0 defeat to the Premier League champions.
Reacting to his move, Tzolis admitted the transfer was a dream come true.
“I need some time to realise it, I think! It’s absolutely amazing to sign for such a big club, the champions of England. I’m very proud to be part of this team for the next season.”

Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta believes the winger has all the qualities needed to make an immediate impact in north London.

Before establishing himself in Belgium, Tzolis had an earlier taste of English football during the 2021/22 season with Norwich City, making 14 Premier League appearances. Loan spells at FC Twente and Fortuna Düsseldorf followed before his career took off after joining Club Brugge in 2024.
The winger becomes Arsenal’s third signing of the summer, following the permanent arrival of Piero Hincapié and the free transfer of goalkeeper Illan Meslier from Leeds United.
His signing also comes as timely encouragement for Arteta after Arsenal suffered a major setback with William Saliba sidelined by a back injury sustained around the World Cup. The French defender is expected to miss the opening stages of the club’s Premier League title defence, making squad depth even more important as the new campaign approaches.
