Manchester United have officially completed the signing of Belgium midfielder Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa in a deal reportedly worth £35 million ($47 million).
The 29-year-old has signed a long-term contract with the Red Devils that will keep him at Old Trafford until June 2031, as the club continues its plans to rebuild and strengthen its squad under new leadership.
Tielemans arrives in Manchester after an impressive spell at Aston Villa, where he played a key role in helping the club end its long wait for European success. The midfielder was also part of Belgium’s run to the quarter-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he captained his country during the tournament.
The move represents another major addition to United’s midfield options as the club looks to reshape the department following recent squad changes, including Casemiro’s departure and Manuel Ugarte’s long-term injury setback.
The Belgian international gained widespread recognition last season after scoring the opening goal in Aston Villa’s UEFA Europa League final triumph over Freiburg, further highlighting his ability to perform on big occasions.

Speaking after completing his move, the former Leicester City player expressed his excitement about joining one of football’s biggest clubs.
