It was another landmark week for Nigerian music as Tems also celebrated a fresh career achievement. Her hit single “What You Need” climbed five spots to reach a new peak of No. 39 on the Billboard Hot 100 in its 15th week on the chart, continuing its remarkable rise.
The success follows the song’s recent dominance on American radio, where it reached No. 1 on both the Billboard Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and Mediabase Urban Radio Airplay charts. The accomplishment made Tems the first African solo artist to top both radio rankings.
