Nigerian singer Brymo has revisited his long-running dispute with Burna Boy, expressing disappointment over a lyric directed at him and making controversial claims about international music awards.

Speaking during a recent interview with NotJustOk Originals, Brymo said he was taken aback when Burna Boy referenced him in a song with the line, “Hustle make you no fall off like Brymo.” According to the singer, he expected more from an artist of Burna Boy’s calibre and described the lyric as beneath him.
“I was surprised that he is flying so high and he did not realize how mediocre how that was. I should be that important,” Brymo said.
Brymo disclosed that he confronted Burna Boy over the lyric, adding that he had no intention of responding in kind through his own music.
“I told him your name no go ever appear for my song.”
The conversation later shifted to international music awards, where Brymo dismissed the significance of Burna Boy’s Grammy triumph, alleging, without providing evidence, that the award had been purchased.
“You won a Grammy and so what? It was bought. Who’s your mate.”
He went on to make another unverified claim about the music industry, alleging that he had once been asked to pay for recognition at the BET Awards.
“I’ve been told to pay $10k for a BET Awards before. I don’t care what fraternity you belong to.”
Brymo did not present evidence to support either allegation during the interview. Neither Burna Boy, the Recording Academy, nor BET had publicly responded to his comments at the time of publication.
The interview has since generated fresh conversations on social media, with fans debating Brymo’s remarks about Burna Boy, award recognition, and the credibility of major international music honours.
