On March 24, 2026, the singer posted on her official Instagram page, expressing profound grief over the loss of her biological mother to a sudden brain tumour.

Accompanying touching photos of her late mother, Asa wrote:

“My mother, my reason to be, my queen, my everything.

A sudden brain tumor came without warning and took you too soon.
You were generous. The kindest soul.
You had your own quiet swag, you were extremely shy, and so funny.
    My biggest fan.
You couldn’t hold a note to save your life, but you sang every one of my songs with your whole heart.
Your strength, your love, your spirit will remain with me forever.

    Rest now, Mum. 💔🕊️”

Fans and fellow artists have since flocked to the comment section to offer condolences and support, sharing messages of love for the singer during this deeply difficult time.

Asa’s tribute highlights not only the profound bond she shared with her mother but also the enduring influence her mother had on her life and music.
