Afrobeats superstar Asake has shared his perspective on wealth, revealing why money plays such an important role in his life and lifestyle.
Speaking during a recent interview with filmmaker and podcaster Korty EO, the award-winning singer spoke candidly about his love for luxury, from expensive cars to flashy jewelry, and how financial success has changed his life.
According to Asake, his appreciation for money goes beyond material things—it’s about the freedom it provides.
“I love the freedom money gives me. It doesn’t solve all my problems, but it solves 80% of my problems,” he said in Yoruba.

Popularly known as “Mr. Money,” the singer also revealed that he owns five cars in Lagos, despite spending much of the past year outside Nigeria.
During the conversation, Asake reflected on his early journey, tracing his rise back to his days at Obafemi Awolowo University, where he studied dramatic arts and built a reputation as a campus star while nurturing his music career.
The interview also featured his mother, who shared insights into his formative years. She disclosed that she had initially planned for him to study in the United Kingdom, but Asake insisted on staying in Nigeria to attend OAU. Her decision to support him was influenced by a family friend and actor, Muyideen Oladapo, who at the time was studying at the university and had promised to guide him.
