Controversial singer Portable has aimed at music executive Don Jazzy, publicly questioning why artists who leave Mavin Records allegedly fail to maintain their dominance in the industry.

In a viral video circulating online, the Zazu crooner urged Don Jazzy to “package” him and suggested the possibility of a partnership, while referencing some of the top stars associated with the label.
“Don Jazzy, why is it that everyone who leaves your label don’t reign again? Come and package me and let’s partner,” he said.
Portable didn’t stop there. He also made bold claims about the careers of some of Mavin’s biggest names, singling out Rema and Tiwa Savage.
“Even Rema is no more reigning. Only Tiwa Savage is reigning,” he added.
The statement comes in the wake of recent controversy surrounding Crayon, who joined Mavin Records in 2019. Crayon had posted a series of now-deleted messages accusing Don Jazzy of being responsible for his mother’s death and claiming that the music executive owed him unpaid royalties.
He further alleged that large sums of money had been collected without him receiving his share and suggested that delayed payments were being used against him, vowing to expose the label.
Portable’s remarks, combined with Crayon’s accusations, have reignited debates online about artist management, royalty payments, and the long-term impact of being under or leaving one of Nigeria’s biggest record labels.
