Billionaire heiress and DJ DJ Cuppy, born Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, has captured attention online following a memorable speech at her alma mater, King’s College London.

The video circulating online quickly won hearts as DJ Cuppy drew inspiration from Afrobeats superstar Davido, using his famous mantra to motivate the latest batch of graduates.
Having graduated from the School of Business and Economics at King’s College in 2014, Cuppy returned in February 2026 to deliver the graduation commemoration speech. She reflected on her journey, telling students:
“Just 11 years ago, I was sitting in the same place as you, graduating from King’s Business School. They say pressure makes diamonds — and I agree — but I also strongly believe that pressure reveals your true self.
Life will never make you feel fully ready, so kickstart the idea and pursue the dream. Action creates clarity. As Afrobeats superstar Davido always says, ‘We rise by lifting others.’”
Using Davido’s words as a guiding principle, she encouraged the graduates to uplift their peers, colleagues, and communities, reminding them to support those who are standing today where they once stood:
“Lift your classmates, lift your colleagues, lift your community, lift the people standing where you once stood, congratulations, thank you.”
Sharing the moment online, she captioned the video:
“In 2014 I graduated from King’s College London. And now in 2026 I delivered the graduation commemoration speech. Full circle moment, I’m still pinching myself 🎓.”
DJ Cuppy’s impressive academic journey also includes a Master’s in Music Business from New York University in 2015 and a Master’s in African Studies from the University of Oxford in 2022, underscoring her commitment to combining music, business, and scholarship.
