The global superstar announced her X (formerly Twitter) account, revealing that she received a Trump Gold Card, a highly exclusive residency-to-citizenship pathway that reportedly requires a $1 million contribution to the U.S. Treasury alongside a $15,000 processing fee.

According to Nicki Minaj, the card was granted to her free of charge, a gesture she described as both surprising and deeply appreciated. The rapper openly expressed gratitude to former U.S. President Donald Trump, crediting him for making the process possible.

“Residency? Residency? The cope is coping. Finalizing that citizenship paperwork as we speak, as per MY wonderful, gracious, charming President. Thanks to the petition. I wouldn’t have done it without you. Oh, CitizenNIKA, you are the moment. Gold Trump card free of charge,” she wrote.

Nicki Minaj, born Onika Tanya Maraj, moved to the United States from Trinidad and Tobago at the age of five. Despite living in the U.S. for decades and building one of the most successful careers in music history, the 43-year-old rapper had not previously held American citizenship.

Her announcement has sparked widespread conversation online, marking a significant personal chapter for the award-winning artist as she officially becomes a U.S. citizen after nearly four decades in the country.
