Afrobeats star AG Baby, popularly known as Adekunle Gold, has opened up on why he intentionally keeps his distance from controversy, insisting that peace of mind matters more to him than engaging in avoidable conflicts.

In a video currently circulating online, the Orente crooner spoke candidly about his personal philosophy, revealing that living quietly and staying trouble-free is a conscious lifestyle choice. According to him, he has no interest in unnecessary confrontations and simply wants to enjoy life without stress.
“Some of us, we just don’t like trouble. In fact, I don’t want to be near it. I just want to live,” the singer said.
AG Baby attributed this mindset to deep self-awareness, explaining that he understands his own temperament and knows when silence and restraint are the wiser options.
He admitted that his ability to speak bluntly is exactly why he chooses to step back rather than react impulsively.
“Me, I know myself. My mouth is not good at all. Anybody who knows me knows my mouth is not good. So I don’t even want to say anything out of regret. I’d rather just step away,” he added.
However, the singer was quick to clarify that his preference for peace should not be confused with weakness. He stressed that avoiding trouble does not mean he cannot stand up for himself when the situation demands it, but that maturity sometimes means choosing calm over chaos.
AG Baby also questioned the mindset of people who seem drawn to conflict, urging them to reconsider their approach to life and embrace peace instead.
“What is your mind like? Why do you not like peace? Why do you not like peace of mind? Why don’t you just walk away?” he asked.
His comments have since sparked conversations online, with many fans praising his perspective as a refreshing reminder that growth often shows in the ability to walk away rather than react.
