Afrobeats singer BNXN has spoken out after several fans were reportedly denied entry into his Lagos concert despite holding valid tickets, an incident that has sparked outrage and renewed conversations around concert safety and organisation in Nigeria.

The concert, held on Friday, December 19, 2025, drew a massive turnout, but excitement quickly turned to frustration as overcrowding at the venue left many ticket holders stranded outside. Videos and eyewitness accounts from the scene showed large crowds gathered at the entrance, with access restricted due to capacity concerns.
Reacting to the situation, BNXN issued a heartfelt apology to affected fans, distancing himself from the organisers’ handling of the event and condemning what he described as a profit-driven approach that compromised safety.
“The show organisers prioritised profit over the safety of the fans and it should never have been so,” the singer said. “I am so sorry to everyone who had valid entry and still couldn’t make it into the show.”
The artist made it clear that the incident goes against his personal values and the bond he shares with his supporters. According to him, putting fans in harm’s way is something he would never knowingly allow.
“I’d never want to put anyone that loves me or my music in that kind of reckless position, and I sincerely apologise,” he added.

BNXN also blamed the chaos on ticket overselling, calling out what he described as unnecessary greed on the part of event organisers.
He stressed that once tickets sell out, sales should be shut down immediately to avoid dangerous overcrowding.
“If tickets are sold out, close the purchase link,” he said. “It could all be so simple, but for that extra… that ‘just a little more’… that greed… super unfair.”
Following the incident, many fans and industry observers have called for tighter regulation of live music events, improved crowd management, and clearer accountability within Nigeria’s rapidly expanding concert scene.

As Lagos continues to host large-scale shows, especially during the busy end-of-year season, the incident has once again highlighted the urgent need for better planning, stricter safety standards, and a fan-first approach to live entertainment.
