This December, Afrobeats powerhouse Ayra Starr is poised to light up New York in a one-of-a-kind evening hosted by the Grammy Museum.
The special edition of their celebrated program series, A New York Evening With Ayra Starr, promises fans a rare glimpse into the life and artistry of one of Africa’s brightest stars.

Set for Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Brooklyn’s National Sawdust, the event will unfold as an intimate conversation where Ayra Starr delves into her music, creative process, and meteoric rise in the global music scene.
Known for chart-topping hits like Rush and Sability, the two-time Grammy nominee will cap the evening with a private live performance, guided by music journalist J’na Jefferson.
Ayra Starr’s presence is more than a showcase; it’s a testament to Afrobeats’ expanding global influence and the growing recognition of African female artists on the world stage.
Adding to the excitement, the evening will shine a spotlight on her 2026 Grammy nomination for Best African Music Performance with her song Gimme Dat.
This follows her groundbreaking achievement as the first and youngest Nigerian female artist to receive a nomination in this category with her breakout hit Rush.
2025 has been a landmark year for Ayra Starr. She celebrated the release of her critically acclaimed second album, The Year I Turned 21, and captivated audiences worldwide with high-profile appearances, including her debut at Glastonbury and performances alongside Coldplay on their Music of the Spheres World Tour.
Tickets for this exclusive evening are available through the Grammy Museum’s website.
The event is made possible with the support of the Dawn and Brian Hoesterey Family Foundation, continuing the museum’s mission to bring extraordinary artists closer to the public in New York.
