Atalanta Sack Ivan Juric After Poor Run of Results

Atalanta have parted ways with manager Ivan Juric following a disappointing start to the Serie A season that saw the club slump to 13th place after 11 games.

The decision came after a 3-0 home defeat to Sassuolo at the weekend, a result that proved to be the final straw for the club’s management.

Juric, who was appointed in June to replace long-serving coach Gian Piero Gasperini, failed to build on last season’s impressive third-place finish. Under his leadership, Atalanta managed only two league victories and currently sit 11 points adrift of leader Inter Milan.

“Atalanta BC announces that Ivan Juric has been relieved of his duties as first team coach,” the club said in an official statement.
“Atalanta BC would like to thank Ivan Juric and his staff for their hard work and wishes them all the best for the future.”

The 50-year-old Croatian’s managerial journey has been turbulent in recent years. After a short-lived stint at AS Roma, where he replaced Daniele De Rossi in September 2024 but was sacked less than two months later,

Juric joined Southampton in December that same year, leaving the club a day after their relegation from the Premier League.

According to multiple reports in Italy, former Fiorentina manager Raffaele Palladino is the leading candidate to take over the Atalanta job.

The club will be looking to stabilise before their next fixture against Napoli on November 22, following the international break.
