While the sold-out show was already a milestone, it was the surprise appearance of Afrobeats superstar Wizkid that sent social media into a frenzy.
Out of nowhere, Wizkid strolled onto the stage at Brooklyn Kings Theatre, triggering wild cheers from the crowd. The duo performed their 2024 smash hit “MMS,” accompanied by a full symphony orchestra, blending Asake’s raw street-pop energy with Wizkid’s smooth, effortless flow.

The prolific hitmaker is nominated for a 2026 Grammy in the Best African Music Performance category for his collaboration “Gimme Dat” with Ayra Starr, proving that the Afrobeats movement shows no signs of slowing down.
