Street-hop star Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, is gearing up to hit the books again, but this time, it’s not just about earning a certificate.
The Zazu crooner says he’s heading back to school to deepen his understanding of the business side of music.

Though Portable already holds an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) from Kwara State Polytechnic, he revealed that his renewed interest in education stems from a desire to take full control of his career and record label.
He wants to sharpen his knowledge in areas like royalties, contracts, and music distribution—the behind-the-scenes mechanics that drive success in the modern music industry.
“Even though I already have an OND from Kwara State Polytechnic, I still want to further my education so I can understand my music royalties and business deals better, especially for my record label, Zeh Nation,” he explained.
According to Portable, this move isn’t about collecting another degree but about gaining the kind of insight that will help him manage Zeh Nation like a true industry professional. For him, education is now a tool for empowerment — a way to grow from being just a hitmaker to a savvy entrepreneur who fully understands his brand and business.
Fans have applauded his decision, seeing it as a refreshing sign of growth. One admirer wrote, “Finally, Portable is thinking like a real boss,” while another added, “Education is important, artists need to understand their royalties and contracts.”
From commanding the streets with his raw energy to now seeking knowledge to back up his hustle, Portable’s latest move marks the beginning of a new era one where wisdom, not just fame, takes the spotlight.
