American rapper Gunna has officially entered his hit single “Wgft,” featuring Burna Boy, for consideration in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category at the upcoming 2026 Grammy Awards.

The track, which appears on Gunna’s August 2025 album The Last Wun, has been widely praised for its seamless blend of Atlanta trap rhythms and Afro-fusion energy, a sound that perfectly bridges two worlds.

The addition of Burna Boy brings a global flair to the record, with the Nigerian star’s distinctive voice and rhythmic delivery giving it a captivating international edge.

Titled “Wgft,” short for “We Gon’ Find Time,” the song has become a fan favourite, celebrated for its infectious hook, smooth tempo, and jazz-tinged production.

Critics have commended Gunna’s laid-back flow and the track’s fluid mix of genres, describing it as exactly the kind of innovative sound the Recording Academy has embraced in recent years.

For Gunna, this Grammy submission represents more than just another entry; it could be a career-defining moment. Despite earning previous nominations, including for his viral hit “Pushin P,” he has yet to claim a Grammy win.

Fans, however, believe 2026 might finally be his year, with “Wgft” standing out as one of his most mature and refined works to date.

On the other hand, Burna Boy continues to expand his international legacy. With multiple Grammy nominations and a win already under his belt, his contribution to “Wgft” further cements his role as a bridge between African music and global hip-hop. His presence on the track adds both credibility and cross-cultural appeal, underscoring the powerful synergy between African and American sounds.

The official nominations for the 2026 Grammys are expected later this year, and if “Wgft” cuts, it could mark a new milestone for both artists, solidifying Burna Boy’s global dominance while potentially giving Gunna his long-awaited Grammy moment.
