Seyi Shay crowns Wizkid the greatest in new interview.
Singer Seyi Shay has showered praises on Wizkid, hailing him as the “greatest of all time” and reflecting on the advice she wishes she had listened to earlier in her career.
Speaking on “The Honest Bunch” podcast, the “Murda” crooner couldn’t hold back her admiration for Wizkid’s artistry and discipline. She described him as a rare talent whose creative process never fails to leave her in awe.
Seyi Shay recalled one studio moment in particular, saying she once watched Wizkid casually record while eating, comparing his inspiration to that of a magician.
But beyond the music, she revealed that Wizkid often tried to prepare her for the harsh realities of the industry when she was still finding her feet.
Looking back now, Seyi Shay admitted that she regrets not following his guidance, as it might have spared her from some of the struggles she later faced.
Still, her respect for the Afrobeats icon remains unwavering. She pointed out his discipline, consistency, and staying power as qualities that truly set him apart, not just as a global superstar but also as a mentor-like presence within the Nigerian music scene.
