West Ham United have officially named Nuno Espirito Santo as their new head coach following the dismissal of Graham Potter.
The Portuguese tactician, who only recently parted ways with Nottingham Forest, has signed a three-year deal with the Hammers that runs until 2028. He is expected to take charge of his first game on Monday, September 29, when West Ham visit Everton in the Premier League.
Nuno’s return to top-flight management comes less than three weeks after his exit from Forest. Despite guiding the club to a seventh-place finish last season, their highest since the 1994/95 campaign and securing Europa League qualification, he was sacked on September 9 after a fallout with owner Evangelos Marinakis.
Speaking to the club’s official website after his unveiling, the 51-year-old said he was relishing the new opportunity.
“I am very pleased to be here and very proud to be representing West Ham United. My objective is to work hard to get the very best from the team and ensure that we are as competitive as we possibly can be. The work has already started and I am looking forward to the challenge that is ahead,” Nuno said.
The Hammers will be hoping the experienced manager, who previously impressive with Wolves in the Premier League, can turn around their poor start to the 2025/26 season.
