Afrobeats star Ahmed Ololade, widely known as Asake, has shed light on the delicate balance between humility and ego in the entertainment space.

In a recent interview, the Mr. Money With The Vibe crooner explained that humility, though admirable, is often misinterpreted, while ego frequently gets celebrated.
He noted that audiences tend to overlook humble artists but admire those who project an air of inaccessibility.
“As an artist, if you’re humble, they take you for granted. But if you have ego, they feel like you’re not accessible, then they like you more,” Asake said.
The hitmaker further emphasised that fans generally care more about results than process. According to him, showing the behind-the-scenes hustle rarely gets the recognition it deserves, while success speaks louder.
“People would rather see what you’re doing than showing them. They don’t really appreciate it. Do what you need to do and just go,” he added.
Asake concluded by stressing that results should remain the ultimate focus. In his view, in a world where glamour often outshines honesty, artists are better off letting their craft and achievements command the respect they seek.
