Nigerian Afropop mainstay Iyanya has dropped his fifth studio album, The Forester’s Son, a 10-track body of work that reflects both his artistic growth and personal journey.

Known for era-defining hits like Kukere and his 2024 project Once Upon a Cat, Iyanya delivers a new chapter that blends heritage, resilience, and heartfelt storytelling.

Drawing inspiration from his Calabar roots, the album captures a mix of nostalgia and modern Afrobeats innovation. Its soundscape shifts between amapiano-tinged rhythms, soulful ballads, and high-energy Afro-fusion bangers.

With polished production and melodic hooks, Iyanya strikes a balance between vulnerability and confidence, offering fans an intimate yet celebratory experience.

The tracklist boasts heavyweight collaborations across the Afrobeats spectrum. Fido lends his voice to the lead single Sorry, a poignant blend of remorse and rhythm, while Mia Guiss infuses Peace of Mind with soulful international depth.

Street-pop star Shoday energizes Orobo, and Ghana’s King Promise layers highlife textures into Badboy. Elsewhere, Reekado Banks delivers a breezy Afro-fusion anthem on Yebo!, while Ice Prince, Magnito, and Moonlight Afrobeat team up for the lively hustle track Business. The album closes on a motivational note with Kizz Daniel on Hold On.

Highlights include the dreamy opener Bluewaters and the reflective title track The Forester’s Son, which bookend the project with emotional weight. Sade offers a romantic mid-tempo groove, while Business provides an undeniable party spark.

Though concise, clocking in at just over eight minutes, the songs pack punchy, repeat-worthy energy ideal for modern playlists.

Since its release, the album has sparked online acclaim, with fans praising its authenticity, seamless features, and bold creativity. Social media reactions frame it as one of Iyanya’s strongest offerings in recent years, cementing his reputation as a seasoned Afropop storyteller.

The Forester’s Son is now streaming on all major platforms, inviting listeners into a rich sonic journey that celebrates roots, reinvention, and resilience.
