Liverpool’s New Adidas Third Kit for 2025/26 Season Has ‘Changed Design’ as Subtle Detail Spotted

Liverpool have officially unveiled their new adidas third kit for the 2025/26 season, with the design serving as a modern tribute to some of the club’s most iconic strips from the 1990s and early 2000s.
The standout green shirt features Liverpool’s heritage crest from 1987–1992 and is completed with white shorts detailed with tonal green accents and green socks carrying Adidas’ three stripes alongside bold ‘LFC’ lettering.
In a nod to history, the kit also marks the return of the adidas Originals Trefoil to a Liverpool shirt for the first time in 34 years, last seen during the 1990–91 season.
Adidas described the strip as one that “pays tribute to one of the most iconic eras in the club’s history” and “connects today’s team to an era that shaped the club’s visual identity while delivering a contemporary edge.”

Juergen Rank, adidas senior design director, added:
“With this third kit, we wanted to create something that speaks to Liverpool’s incredible heritage while feeling distinctly modern. The return of the Trefoil for the first time in over three decades is a special moment, and when paired with the iconic crest from 1987–1992, the design becomes a true celebration of history.
Combined with the sea green colourway, which draws inspiration from some of the most memorable LFC adidas kits, we’ve created a look that feels both nostalgic and bold, perfect for the pitch and the terraces.”
The kit, steeped in retro nostalgia but styled for today, is set to be worn across Liverpool’s domestic and European campaigns this season.
