CKay’s Debut EP ‘Ckay The First’ Surpasses 1 Billion Streams on Spotify

Afrobeats star CKay has reached a historic career milestone as his debut EP, Ckay The First, surpasses 1 billion streams on Spotify.
The 2019 project becomes the seventh Nigerian body of work to enter the billion-streams club and, more significantly, the first Nigerian EP ever to achieve the feat.
This also marks CKay’s first entry into the elite club, placing him alongside Burna Boy, Rema, Omah Lay, Ayra Starr, and Wizkid the only other Nigerian acts with projects that have crossed the 1B mark.

Propelled by the runaway success of “Love Nwantiti,” a global phenomenon that spawned countless remixes and topped charts worldwide, Ckay The First captured audiences far beyond Nigeria.
Yet, the EP’s appeal stretches beyond its most famous track, with each song showcasing CKay’s knack for infectious melodies, heartfelt storytelling, and genre-blending production.
From Lagos to Los Angeles, TikTok virality to sold-out concerts, Ckay The First has proven itself timeless — not only as the project that introduced CKay to the world but also as one that redefined the potential of an Afrobeats EP on the global stage.
