Rema Crowns POP Boys Winners of $10k ‘Kelebu’ dance challenge

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Divine Ikubor, professionally known as Rema, has officially declared POP Boys the winners of his viral #KelebuDanceChallenge.
The Mavin Records artist launched the challenge shortly after releasing his high-energy single Kelebu on July 26, 2025. Driven by bold horn arrangements and electrifying rhythms, the track ignited a wave of excitement online, with fans and creatives eagerly anticipating its debut.
Music critics, including Native Magazine, have praised Kelebu for its unique blend of sonic influences from Dominica’s uptempo dance music, Cameroon’s Makossa, and Côte d’Ivoire’s Coupé-décalé genres rooted in French-speaking regions of the Caribbean and Africa.
This global fusion further reflects Rema’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of Afrobeats into new, uncharted territories.
To amplify the song’s reach and cultural impact, Rema issued a public challenge on X (formerly Twitter) on July 27, writing:
“$10K for whoever comes up with an EASY dance for KELEBU. out this Friday!”

On August 7, Rema shared a video of popular TikTok group POP Boys performing a vibrant, infectious routine to Kelebu. He announced them as the official winners, writing:
“Come get ur money #kelebudancechallenge.”
Along with the $10,000 cash prize, POP Boys will appear in the official music video for Kelebu and receive a personal video call from Rema himself.
The challenge marks another milestone in Rema’s global ascent, seamlessly blending fan engagement, social media virality, and genre-bending innovation into a signature rollout only he could deliver.
