Controversial Nigerian internet personality and self-proclaimed Yahoo boy, has stirred reactions online after making bold claims about his past interactions with Grammy-winning star Burna Boy.
In a recently surfaced video, Opa6ix recounted a tense moment that allegedly occurred in South Africa when Burna Boy was still an up-and-coming artist.
According to him, he almost “beat the living daylight” out of the singer during an altercation.
“Back then in South Africa, Burna was still a small artiste, on the level of Small Doctor. I just arrived from the UK, and I wanted to be him. Burna was blowing hot because he didn’t want his name to appear next to mine on a nightclub flyer,” Opa6ix claimed.
He went on to say that the situation escalated to the point where Burna Boy later came to him to apologize, allegedly in a bid to avoid another scandal with a known Yahoo boy, especially given his past legal troubles in the UK.
“He didn’t want another saga with a Yahoo boy, especially after his UK issues,” Opa6ix added.
The statement follows Opa6ix’s earlier revelation about falling out with Davido over a woman, despite once being close friends with the Afrobeats superstar.
While Opa6ix acknowledged Burna Boy’s current global status, he emphasized that the singer was once “much smaller” than him in terms of fame and influence.
The clip has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with many questioning the credibility of the claims and criticizing Opa6ix for attempting to discredit a now globally acclaimed artist.
