Portable Raises Alarm Over Frozen First Bank Account

Nigerian street-pop star Portable has sparked intense online debate after posting a viral video alleging that his First Bank account is inaccessible, despite still receiving deposits.

In a rare display of composure, the Zazoo Zeh crooner urged the bank to urgently resolve the issue, emphasising that he fears going to the bank physically due to the recent arrest of online activist Verydarkman (VDM) at a GTBank branch.

Portable was quick to deny any fraudulent activity, stressing that all funds in his account come from legitimate sources—music streaming revenue, endorsement deals, and performance fees.

However, he turned heads with an astonishing claim: that his First Bank account contains over ₦400 billion, citing recent payments from Apple Music.

While many fans and commenters expressed sympathy and concern, others were skeptical, questioning the credibility of the ₦400 billion claim, which, if true, would rank him among Nigeria’s wealthiest entertainers by far.

As of now, First Bank has not released an official statement in response to Portable’s allegations or his viral video.

In other news, the outspoken artist voiced his frustrations, alleging that attempts to arrest him have resumed—and intensified—following reports that Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy had sent him money for defeating a rival in a recent altercation.

In a visibly agitated video, Portable warned of the toll the situation is taking on him, pleading for peace and raising concerns about the growing pressure he faces.

He said, “They heard that Odogwu (Burna Boy) sent me money, now police don dey find me again. Make dem no k!ll me o, this matter don dey too much.”
