“We Have Different Creative Energies” – Sarz explains why he hasn’t collaborated with DMW Boss
Renowned Nigerian music producer Sarz has finally shed light on why he and Davido, one of Afrobeats’ biggest stars, have never worked together—despite both being industry powerhouses for over a decade.
Speaking during an interview on Cool FM aired on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, Sarz got candid about the reason behind the lack of collaboration:
The way he works and the way I work are very different. I feel like that’s the big difference.”
He explained further that while Davido is known for his lively, people-filled studio sessions, Sarz prefers a more focused, intimate setup:
“Davido always likes people around him whenever he’s in the studio and for me, that’s not how I work. I like to work alone with the artist—maybe that’s why we have not worked.”
Even though fans have long fantasized about a Sarz x Davido collab, it seems the difference in studio vibe and creative approach has kept the dream from becoming reality—for now.
Still, both artists remain major contributors to the Afrobeats global takeover, with Sarz known for his genre-bending production and Davido consistently delivering chart-topping hits.
