Drake is set to tie Taylor Swift & Jay Z’s Billboard record for most #1 albums

Canadian superstar Drake is on the verge of securing his 14th No. 1 album as a soloist with his latest collaborative project, ‘$ome $exy 4 U,’ alongside ‘PartyNextDoor.’
According to Chart Data, this milestone will see Drake tie the record for 14 chart-topping Billboard 200 albums, a feat previously achieved by hip-hop legend Jay-Z and pop icon Taylor Swift.
With this achievement, Drake moves just five No. 1 albums behind The Beatles’ record of 19, edging closer to one of the biggest milestones in music history.
‘$ome $exy 4 U’ marks Drake’s first release since his high-profile rap battle with Kendrick Lamar, which resulted in the viral diss track ‘Not Like Us.’ The song, however, became the center of a legal dispute as Drake filed a lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG)—the label he’s signed to.
In his legal petition, Drake accused UMG of allowing the release of a song that contained false and damaging claims about him. He also alleged that the label used bots and other unethical methods to artificially boost the song’s Spotify streams, manipulating its popularity.
2025 is shaping up to be another massive year for Drake, who was recently crowned the highest-selling rapper of 2024 by IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry).
According to the IFPI Global Artist Ranking, Drake finished as the second best-selling artist worldwide in 2024, trailing only Taylor Swift, who topped the list for a third consecutive year and fifth time overall.
– This marks Drake’s 10th year in the IFPI Global Top 10.
– It’s also his 10th time as the highest-selling rapper globally.
– Eminem (No. 8) and Kendrick Lamar (No. 9) followed as the next highest-ranked rappers in 2024.
With his chart dominance, record-breaking sales, and a potential 14th Billboard 200 No. 1 album, Drake continues to solidify his place as one of the most successful artists of all time.
