Nigerian singer and content creator Nasboi has declared his intention to keep his future marriage private, away from the public spotlight.

His decision follows the highly publicized divorce drama between music icon 2Baba and his wife, Annie Macaulay-Idibia.

Taking to his X page, Nasboi shared his thoughts, stating that he wants to avoid unwanted opinions and criticism from strangers online. He said, “I’ll hide my marriage when I’m ready. Nothing online, please, please! I don’t want some random child having opinions about my life.”

This isn’t the first time Nasboi has emphasized the importance of keeping personal relationships private. In the past, he has advised fans against using celebrity marriages as a standard for measuring marital success.

By keeping his future marriage out of the public eye, Nasboi hopes to preserve his privacy and shield his personal life from public scrutiny.

I go hide marry when I ready. Nothing online abeg abeg! Make one small pikin no come dey get opinion for my life.

Recall, In a candid interview with Tacha on Cool FM, Nasboi boldly declared that he does not require his parents’ consent before marrying the woman he loves. According to him, while his parents can offer advice based on their experiences, his own happiness takes precedence in such matters.

Delving into his family background, Nasboi highlighted his parents’ inter-tribal marriage as a significant factor shaping his perspective. Drawing from their example, he emphasized that his parents’ role is advisory rather than authoritative when it comes to his marital decisions.

Tacha probed, “Would you marry who your parents do not accept?”

“Yes, I would,” he said. “I think I’ve had this conversation before and they wanted to kill me. My mum is not a Yoruba woman. She’s from Warri and she’s a Christian. Meanwhile my dad is Yoruba and Muslim. You see it looks like something impossible right? Yet it happened.”
