Nigerian artist Bright Okpocha, better known as Basketmouth, has shared a personal revelation about walking away from a toxic relationship, opening up on how he overcame underestimation and emerged stronger.

In a post shared on his social media page, Basketmouth described how his partner misjudged him, believing he was weak and incapable of rising above challenges. He recounted the emotional journey that led him to stand tall despite the turmoil.

“She really underestimated me and assumed I was weak. Little did she know that with every new day, comes a new strength; A new drive, and an unwavering determination to win,” Basketmouth wrote, reflecting on how he bounced back against the odds.

He went on to express how he was judged and ridiculed, but despite the onslaught, he remained resilient. “She came at me with everything she had, but eventually, she burnt out,” he added.

Basketmouth described his triumphant comeback, noting how he emerged stronger than ever. “At the end of it all, I stood taller and stronger than I ever was. The comeback was so unexpected. But I reclaimed my power,” he stated.

The comedian, who has always been known for his wit, ended the post with a dramatic note. “Isn’t it amazing how just one second can make someone who seemed so powerful, become nothing but a shadow of a memory?” he mused, before recounting a moment of defiance.

“As I walked away, I couldn’t help but stop in my glorious strides. I turned back to take one last look at her. With a bright smile on my face, I raised my right hand towards her and I flipped out the middle finger as I whispered delightfully; ‘F*ck you 2024, I WON..’”

Basketmouth’s candid message not only signifies personal growth but also highlights the strength of character that led him to take control of his life, leaving behind a toxic situation and embracing his newfound empowerment.
