Nigerian music superstar Davido has responded to rumors claiming he was paid $10 million (approximately ₦17 billion) to perform at the royal wedding of Indian media personality Alkesh Thavrani and his bride, Sheetal Mazda, in Udaipur, India.

After the news of the alleged payment went viral, Davido took to his Instagram story to clear the air. In a playful post, the Unavailable crooner tagged the groom’s Instagram handle and joked about the viral figure, writing:

    “@AlkeshThavrani, wer my balance.”

This humorous response hinted that the payment he received was less than the rumored amount. He further teased his followers, saying:

“@AlkeshThavrani received. 2025 go hear am. I need Indian passport.”

Despite the jokes, Davido confirmed that he had been paid his performance fees for the event.

Davido’s $10 million performance fee sets a new benchmark for Nigerian artists performing internationally.

The singer is scheduled to perform at the high-profile wedding, which has already garnered significant attention due to its grandeur and the global stature of its guest list.

Earlier this year, Nigerian sensation Rema was the first artist to receive $3 million to perform his hit song Calm Down at the wedding of Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Mukesh Ambani, Asia’s richest man.
