Kendrick Lamar Earns His Third Hot 100 No. 1 Of 2024 With “Squabble Up”
Compton rap icon Kendrick Lamar continues his dominant run in 2024, earning his third Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 of the year with the track ‘Squabble Up.’
The announcement came on Monday, December 2, further solidifying Lamar’s reign after his GNX album recently topped the Billboard 200 chart.
Squabble Up was first hinted at in July during the opening sequence of Lamar’s video for Not Like Us. By November, it received its own dedicated visual, which featured notable appearances by Taz Arnold, G Perico, Cuzzos, and BACKONFIGG’s Smac, per REVOLT.
Joining Lamar’s chart-topping streak is TV Off, which debuted at No. 2. The Lefty Gunplay-assisted track gained traction on social media, fueled by Lamar’s electrifying “Mustard” chant in the latter half.
The song’s producer, Mustard, shared his excitement in a Billboard interview, stating, “That st was elite… I can’t wait to perform that song and just hear people saying that.”
Other tracks from Lamar’s GNX album also made an impressive impact on the charts. Luther, which creatively samples Cheryl Lynn and Luther Vandross’ If This World Were Mine, landed at No. 3, while the album opener, Wacced Out Murals, secured the No. 4 spot.
On the latter track, Lamar delivers sharp commentary and name-drops cultural icons such as Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, and Kat Williams.
Kendrick Lamar’s continued chart dominance underscores his unparalleled ability to captivate audiences with both his lyrical prowess and innovative musical style.
