Beyoncé to perform during Netflix’s NFL Christmas Gameday Halftime Show in Houston
Netflix has announced that global music icon Beyoncé will deliver a live halftime performance during the NFL Christmas Gameday on December 25.
The event, held at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, will coincide with the clash between the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens, marking the second of two games under Netflix’s three-year partnership with the NFL.
This performance will be especially significant as it brings Beyoncé back to her hometown stage. Fans are eagerly anticipating her live rendition of tracks from ‘COWBOY CARTER,’ her groundbreaking album released in March. The album has earned an impressive 11 Grammy nominations this month, setting a record as the most nominated album by a female artist.
The halftime show teased in a Netflix trailer released Monday will see Beyoncé make her first live appearance since completing her ‘Renaissance‘ world tour in 2023. That tour spanned 56 shows and attracted nearly three million attendees worldwide.
Beyoncé’s history with NFL performances is unforgettable. Her iconic appearance at the Super Bowl 50 halftime show in 2016 alongside Coldplay and Bruno Mars garnered 115.5 million viewers, making it one of the most-watched halftime shows ever.
While Netflix has kept additional details about the Christmas Gameday halftime show under wraps, reports suggest Beyoncé could be joined by special guests featured on ‘COWBOY CARTER.’
The game and live performance will highlight Netflix’s foray into live sports broadcasting, a new venture following its agreement with the NFL. The star-studded halftime show will begin at 9:30 pm on Christmas Day, adding to the festive excitement for football and music fans alike.
