Asake Breaks Record for Longest-Running Nigerian Album on NG Spotify Albums Top 10 Chart
Nigerian award-winning artist Asake has achieved a groundbreaking milestone by breaking the record for the longest-running Nigerian album on the NG Spotify Albums Top 10 chart.
This historic feat further cements Asake’s standing as one of the biggest names in contemporary Afrobeats.
Previously, the record was held by Omah Lay’s ‘Boy Alone,’ which spent an impressive 103 weeks on the chart. However, Asake has surpassed this with his album, which has now spent an astounding 106 weeks in the Top 10, showcasing his sustained popularity and the enduring appeal of his music.
Asake’s album has also become the first and only Nigerian project to remain in the Top 10 for a full two years, underscoring its timeless appeal and the artist’s ability to connect with both local and global audiences.
This remarkable achievement speaks volumes about Asake’s artistic growth, the loyalty of his fanbase, and the widespread influence of his work.
With this new record, Asake continues to inspire a new generation of artists while solidifying his place as one of the foremost voices in the global music scene.

In other news, Asake has reached a significant career milestone with one of his songs being selected for the soundtrack of the upcoming NBA 2K25 video game.
His track “Wave,” a collaboration with British rapper Central Cee from his third album ‘Lungu Boy,’ is featured on the NBA 2K25 season 2 soundtrack.
This album also includes songs from prominent American artists such as Key Glock and Lil Pete.
Asake is the only Afrobeats artist to be included in the soundtrack, marking a consecutive appearance for Afrobeats following Adekunle Gold’s “Party No Dey Stop” featuring Zinoleesky on the NBA 2K24 soundtrack.
