KCee reacts to Flavour’s ‘Copycat’ allegations
A public feud has erupted between Nigerian music stars KCee and Flavour, stemming from KCee’s latest song, which closely resembles Flavour’s hit ‘Doings.’
Flavour seemed to initiate the controversy with a cryptic post on X, writing “Copy copy akaria“—a phrase implying imitation. Though he didn’t mention KCee directly, KCee took the comment as a jab and quickly responded with strong words.
Copy copy akaria 🤦🏾♂️

In a series of posts, KCee asserted that Igbo music doesn’t belong solely to Flavour, stressing, “You don’t own this genre of music. My music celebrates our heritage, and I won’t apologize.” KCee reminded fans that he has been an industry fixture longer than Flavour, encouraging his counterpart to focus on his success instead of tearing others down.
He further warned Flavour against “gatekeeping” Igbo culture, stating that it belongs to everyone, not any single individual.
Fans have since been debating the issue on social media, taking sides and sparking discussions on cultural ownership and respect within the music industry.
While Flavour has yet to respond, the conflict has drawn widespread attention.
Fans and industry insiders are eagerly awaiting further developments to see if the two artists will reconcile or if this feud will continue to escalate.
