Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal has spoken confidently about his team’s belief that they are currently the best in the world after a dominant 4-0 victory over Real Madrid in El Clasico.
Yamal made history in the match at the Bernabeu by becoming the youngest goalscorer in El Clasico, further cementing his reputation as one of football’s brightest young stars.
His goal followed Robert Lewandowski’s quick brace at the start of the second half, and Raphinha capped off the win with a late strike in the 84th minute.
This stunning El Clasico performance came just days after Barcelona’s 4-1 win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League, silencing critics who suggested they had only been defeating weaker teams.
Yamal, reflecting on the two high-stakes victories, declared: “We believe we are the best team in the world… Now we have beaten Real Madrid 4-0 at their home. We’ve proven that we can beat anyone.”
Since Hansi Flick took over as manager from Xavi Hernandez, Barcelona has seen a resurgence. Despite two losses to Osasuna and Monaco, they lead La Liga with 37 goals, more than any other club in Europe’s top leagues.
Flick has relied heavily on young talents like Yamal, Pau Cubarsi, Alejandro Balde, Marc Casado, and Fermin Lopez, while Raphinha has contributed significantly with six league goals, including a recent hat-trick against Bayern.
Barcelona now prepares to host rivals Espanyol next Sunday, with a significant 20-point gap between the two clubs in La Liga.
