CAF announces date and venue for Africa Player of the Year award
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially announced that the 2024 Africa Player of the Year Award will take place in Marrakesh, Morocco, marking its third consecutive year in this location.
This annual event recognizes outstanding performances from players and clubs across all football competitions for both men and women.
CAF shared the announcement on its official X account on October 24, 2024, stating:
“The CAFAwards24 will be hosted in the tourist city of Marrakech, Morocco, on December 16, 2024.”
While the final list of nominees for Africa’s Best Player has not yet been confirmed, several prominent players are anticipated to be in contention for the prestigious award. Notable names include Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman, Guinea’s Serhou Guirassy, and Morocco’s Brahim Díaz, all of whom have delivered impressive performances in their leagues and competitions this year.
The CAF awards will also include categories such as Youth Player of the Year, Club of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year, Team of the Year, and Coach of the Year, among others.
