Jose Mourinho speaks on Manchester United chances of winning the Premier League
Former Manchester United manager José Mourinho has extended his well-wishes to the club ahead of their upcoming Europa League clash against Fenerbahçe.
During a recent press conference, Mourinho was asked about his current relationship with Manchester United. In response, he expressed that he believes the Red Devils have a stronger team than their Turkish opponents, Fenerbahçe, in the upcoming match.
He also took the opportunity to wish Manchester United success in their quest for the Premier League title, demonstrating his continued support for the club despite no longer being at the helm.
He said, “Maybe you think I am bluffing or playing mind games. They have a better team than their results show. We watch everything, there is work there and sooner or later they will succeed.
Hopefully sooner and hopefully before I go back to the Premier League. I wish all the best to Man United. I’ve been happy there, we won the Europa League, second in the league. I left United with good feelings for both clubs and fans. If things are not working for Man United, I’m never happy”.
He also discussed Manchester United’s chances of becoming Premier League champions in 2017.
“Manchester United still have a chance to win that league [2017/18 season] if they punish Manchester City. In that case, I hope they give me my medal and pay me the bonus.”
Manchester United finished second to Manchester City, and if the Premier League decides to penalize the Citizens for breaking 115 Premier League regulations.
