Seun Kuti recounts how he was hurt when Davido failed to send his wedding IV to him
Seun Kuti, a popular Nigerian singer, expressed his disappointment at not being invited to Davido’s wedding in June 2024.
The event, attended by celebrities, dignitaries, and politicians, saw Davido tying the knot with his wife, Chioma Rowland, in a star-studded ceremony.
During an appearance on the podcast “Curiosity Made Me Ask,” hosted by content creator Isbae U, Seun Kuti revealed that the snub deeply hurt him.
He shared that despite Davido frequently visiting his venue, the ‘Shrine,’ with his friends, they never paid for drinks. Kuti further admitted that the exclusion from the wedding guest list affected him so much that he couldn’t sleep for a week.
Isbae U asked:
“How does it feel to be one of the pirated Nigerian celebrity to not have been invited to one of the biggest weddings in Nigeria?”
His words …
“E pain me. E pain me die. Because that Davido dey come drink for Shrine, e go pack like 100 people they go drink they no go pay… I didn’t sleep for almost one week.”
His remarks highlighted the emotional toll it took, given the cordial relationship he believed they had.
