Speed Darlington’s mother goes on her knees to beg Burna Boy to release her son
Popular content creator and musician Speed Darlington has reportedly been missing for three days, sparking concern across social media. In a video shared online, Darlington’s mother claimed that her son had been arrested, allegedly at the request of Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy.
According to her, the arrest followed a video Darlington posted mocking Burna Boy.
The news of his disappearance began circulating on October 8, 2024, with reports suggesting that Darlington was taken from his residence three days prior.
In her emotional video, Darlington’s mother revealed that she had only just learned of his arrest after he released a satirical video targeting Burna Boy.
In the now-controversial clip, Speed Darlington humorously ridiculed Burna Boy, particularly over his association with American rapper P. Diddy, whom the FBI recently arrested on charges related to sexual exploitation, human trafficking, and slavery.
In the video, Darlington questioned how Burna Boy secured his Grammy award for *Twice As Tall*, on which Diddy served as executive producer. This sparked further online speculation, with some alleging a questionable relationship between Burna Boy and Diddy.
In her plea, Speed Darlington’s mother tearfully begged Burna Boy to show mercy and release her son from detention. She also urged Nigerians to help, as she lives outside the country and fears for her son’s well-being.
As of now, Burna Boy’s team has neither confirmed nor denied any involvement in the arrest, and the Nigerian Police Force has not issued an official statement regarding the situation.
