In a rare and candid interview with “GQ Magazine” for their October cover story, American singer Beyoncé opened up about the challenges of maintaining her privacy in the digital age.

Known for being fiercely private, the “Renaissance” singer discussed her music, her new whiskey business, and the struggle to safeguard her personal life in a world where access to information is constant and often unreliable.

“We live in a world of access,” Beyoncé remarked, drawing a contrast between the earlier days of technology and today’s rapid communication. She reflected on how she and her husband, Jay-Z, used to rely on calling cards and Skype to stay in touch when they were first falling in love, saying, “I couldn’t afford the international hotel bills, so I literally would get international calling cards to call him.” Today, she observed, “Our children can FaceTime and see their friends at any given moment.”

Beyoncé also expressed her concerns about technological advancements, sharing a moment that shook her: “Just recently, I heard an AI song that sounded so much like me it scared me. It’s impossible to truly know what’s real and what’s not.”

The singer emphasized the importance of keeping her personal life distinct from her public persona, stating, “One thing I’ve worked extremely hard on is making sure my kids can have as much normalcy and privacy as possible, ensuring my personal life isn’t turned into a brand.” She added that while many celebrities turn their lives into “performance art,” she has made an “extreme effort” to protect her boundaries.

In a powerful closing statement, Beyoncé underscored her commitment to peace, saying, “No amount of money is worth my peace.”
