Portable faces backlash for slapping pastor for preaching in front of his bar
Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has found himself in trouble once again, this time for assaulting a pastor who was preaching near his establishment.
On September 9, 2024, Portable went live on Instagram from his bar in the Sango area of Ogun State. During the livestream, he noticed a street evangelist preaching outside.
The video shows Portable approaching the preacher, confronting him, hurling insults, and then slapping him, accusing the man of disturbing his customers.
“Why are you doing this? Are you crazy? Why are you coming to disgrace me in my bar? Get out of here!” Portable yelled before slapping the pastor.
The singer continued his rant: “This is how they ruin my business and disturb my customers. Are you crazy? On a Monday morning, you’re messing with my business. I already prayed for myself before leaving home,” he added, before chasing the preacher away.

The incident sparked outrage on social media, with many users criticizing Portable’s actions, labeling his behavior excessive and unnecessary. Several even called for his arrest for assaulting the pastor.
