Here’s why Ayra Starr has never been in love
Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr recently opened up about her love life in a candid interview with “Dazed Magazine,“ revealing that she has never experienced being in love, despite often being labeled a “lover girl” due to the themes in her music.
“I want to fall in love. I wrote Lagos Love Story about what love would look like if I was,” Ayra Starr shared. “I am a lover girl deep in my heart, but I’m just very strong-headed about it. I actually have never been in love.”
The “Commas” singer further explained that she has never been in a fully committed relationship, even though she has had “certain situations” in the past. “I’ve put myself out there and tried to see what’s there, but I don’t think I’ve had the time,” she admitted. “I’ve been working since I was 15—modeling, attending university, and now touring.”
Ayra Starr also mentioned that she’s currently embracing her freedom and enjoying life without the pressure of commitment. “I’m just enjoying myself as a girl. I might sing to a cute boy today and look around because I can—why not?” she said, reflecting her carefree approach.
