Amid controversy, Wizkid sends out a kind message in response to criticism.
“Love is a beautiful thing,“ says Grammy Award-winning artist Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, as he finally addresses the backlash from his recent online comments.
On August 15th, 2024, Wizkid, the renowned “Essence” hitmaker, sparked heated discussions across social media after a controversial post where he seemingly insulted netizens’ fathers. The post, shared on his verified profiles on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, simply read, “Una papa! 🦅.”
While many of his loyal fanbase, Wizkid FC shrugged off the comment, others on social media were not as forgiving, expressing their displeasure with the singer’s words. One X user, @ArewaAdebukolaa, fired back, saying, “Your papa too… This midget just wakes up, smokes igbo, and tweets rubbish. Your papa papa x10. Werey ni e nii?”
Don’t get it twisted love is a beautiful thing!

With that being said, Nicki Minaj has finally given fans a taste of her much-anticipated collaboration with Afrobeats sensation Wizkid. The American rapper and singer, born Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, surprised her followers during a recent Instagram live by sharing a snippet of the track they recorded together eight years ago.
The pair first sparked collaboration rumours when a studio photo of them went viral years back, igniting speculation among fans and despite the hype, no music has materialized until now. While it’s unclear if the full track will ever be officially released, the teaser has reignited excitement, with fans eagerly hoping to hear the entire song soon.
