Lagos State Government and CIG Motors Company Limited Seal New Partnership Deal
Nigerian superstar Davido, is in attendance as the Lagos State Government and CIG Motors Company Limited finalize a new partnership agreement.
In a groundbreaking ceremony, the Lagos State Government and CIG Motors Company Limited have entered into a joint venture agreement to establish a state-of-the-art vehicle assembly plant in Lagos. This significant partnership is expected to revolutionize the automotive industry in Nigeria.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu expressed his optimism about the project, stating that it aligns with his administration’s economic growth blueprint.
He emphasized that the joint venture will revive industrialization, drive skilled youth employment, create wealth, boost tourism, and encourage technology sharing, adaptation, and advancement.
Davido attended the historic event, lending his support to this significant partnership. His presence added a touch of glamour to the ceremony, which was also attended by prominent government officials and business leaders.
The vehicle assembly plant is expected to generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs, contributing significantly to the state’s economic growth. The plant will have a production capacity of 5,000 units of new vehicles per year in the first phase, with plans to increase production to 50,000 units annually in the future.
Chairman of CIG Motors, Chief Diana Chen, expressed her company’s commitment to building GAC Motors in Nigeria to the highest brand level.
She praised the partnership with the Lagos government, stating that it would introduce and promote a greater Lagos with ample opportunities.
