How Olamide gave me free verse after rejecting ₦100m – Tiwa Savage
Nigerian songstress Tiwa Savage has shared a heartwarming story about her encounter with fellow artist and rapper Olamide.
Tiwa Savage revealed that Olamide turned down ₦100 million for a verse in her song after his management initially billed her.
The “Stamina” crooner explained that Olamide refused to charge her because of their sibling-like bond and his understanding of the challenges female artists face in the music industry.
Instead, Olamide graciously provided the verse for free, showcasing his caring and supportive nature.
Tiwa Savage expressed her gratitude, acknowledging the presence of decent people in the industry, such as Olamide. Recounting the experience, she said:
“I was talking to his management. I didn’t want to talk to him directly because he would want to do it for free. Spoke to his team, and they charged ₦100 million. I was willing to pay. When Olamide asked them who the artist was, they said it was me, and he just said NO. He won’t take it.
He said I am his sister, and he knows how difficult it is to make it in the industry as a woman. That’s how he refused and, guess what? He gave me the verse for free. Good people exist, and Baddo is one.”
