Chelsea announce signing of £30m Leicester midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
Chelsea have officially confirmed the signing of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City.
The 25-year-old midfielder has signed a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea paying Leicester City a fee of £30 million for his services.
Dewsbury-Hall expressed his excitement about joining Chelsea, stating on the club’s website, “It is amazing to be sitting here as a Chelsea player. This is a club people grow up watching and hoping to one day play for, so it is a privilege to be here. I’m really excited to get going and can’t wait to show everybody what I can do.”

The midfielder played a pivotal role in Leicester’s successful 2023/24 campaign, helping them secure promotion from the Championship. He contributed 12 goals and 14 assists from central midfield and reunites with head coach Enzo Maresca, who also recently moved from Leicester to Chelsea.
Earlier in the summer, there were rumors of Dewsbury-Hall potentially moving to Brighton & Hove Albion in a swap deal involving Jakub Moder, but this deal fell through, allowing Chelsea to make their move.
Dewsbury-Hall becomes Chelsea’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window. The club has already secured centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer from Fulham, forward Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa for £19 million, and striker Marc Guiu from Barcelona for £5 million.
Meanwhile, Leicester City, under new manager Steve Cooper following Maresca’s departure, are focusing on rebuilding despite their promotion from the Championship.
