Mohbad’s family rejects inconclusive toxicology result
The family of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has expressed dissatisfaction with the inconclusive toxicology report released by a pathologist.
According to recent reports, Mohbad’s family has rejected the toxicology report. The family’s legal representatives, Wahab Shittu and Taiwo Odumosu, held a virtual press conference to reject the report and call on the Lagos State government to conduct a new test to ensure transparency in the process.
Additionally, the family has appealed to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to investigate the cause of Mohbad’s death and bring those responsible to justice.
The legal team also questioned the integrity of the investigation and the toxicology test, which was purportedly conducted in the US but lacked concrete evidence. They noted that the report featured the letterhead and address of the National Medical Services Laboratories in Pennsylvania, raising concerns about the test’s authenticity.
The Aloba family and fans worldwide are seeking answers and demanding a thorough investigation into Mohbad’s untimely death.

Recall, The autopsy, conducted at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), involved retrieving samples of Mohbad’s gastric content, blood, bone marrow, liver, kidney, and lung for toxicology tests.
According to the report, Mohbad had an injury on his right forearm, and his body showed moderate to severe decomposition upon exhumation. The toxicology report found Diphenhydramine, an antihistamine, but not at a fatal concentration.
The report suggests the possibility of a drug reaction or anaphylactic shock. It also notes that the body was not embalmed before burial and was exhumed eight days after burial, potentially affecting the toxicology results.
The report states, “Following the Order for Exhumation, the body was exhumed on 21/09/2023 (8 days after the burial)… in light of the foregoing, cause of death could not be ascertained. However, the possibility of a fatal anaphylactic shock (drug reaction) could be considered in view of the absence of any significant post-mortem and toxicology findings.”
