Young Duu speaks on Davido’s accessibility
Nigerian singer Young Duu has stirred up online discussions by suggesting that fellow musician Davido is more accessible than Wizkid.
During an appearance on the podcast “Spill with Phyna,” Young Duu, formerly signed to Portable’s Zeh Nation label, remarked on the challenges of meeting Wizkid, stating, “To see Wizkid is not easy… If Wizkid is here like this (gesturing), and you want to see Wizkid, they have to throw you there (arrange a meeting)…” In contrast, he portrayed Davido as more approachable, saying, “to see Davido is still dey near me (easier).”
This comparison has sparked debate among fans on social media. Some interpret it as a testament to Davido’s approachability and willingness to engage with emerging artists, while others attribute it to the distinct personalities of the two musicians.
This isn’t the first instance where comparisons have been drawn between these prominent figures in Afrobeats. Wizkid and Davido are often viewed as rivals, both achieving commercial success and recognized as leaders within the Afrobeats genre.

Recall, Young Duu accuses his former friend, Carter Efe, of resorting to underhanded tactics on social media, with none other than superstar Davido as the target.
Having been allies since Young Duu’s clash with Portable in 2023, the duo collaborated on a hit track titled “Oyinmo” released in November of that year.
However, their friendship soured over financial disputes concerning song profits. Young Duu now alleges that Carter Efe went to great lengths by creating a fake social media account under Young Duu’s name to harass Davido. In a fiery Instagram video posted today, Wednesday, March 27, 2024, Young Duu launched a scathing attack on Carter Efe, branding him as deceitful and malicious.
