Solid Star quits smoking, alcohol consumption
Nigerian singer Joshua Iniyezo, also known as Solid Star, has made a significant lifestyle change by giving up smoking and alcohol consumption.
In a notable transformation from a troubling period a few months ago, where he was captured in a distressing video shared by his brother, Joseph, appearing disheveled and wandering aimlessly on the streets, Solidstar has now revealed that he is feeling well and maintaining good health.
The singer disclosed that he has successfully overcome substance abuse, marking a positive turning point in his life.
“I am very well and healthy now. I have been out of the hospital for four months now, but I am still taking my medication. I no longer smoke or take alcohol,” The Nation quoted him as saying in a recent interview.
Solid Star emphasized the importance of open communication, stating that he learned from his experience that keeping things to himself contributed to his depression. He admitted that his secrecy led him to view those around him as adversaries.
However, the singer revealed that he received significant support from friends, colleagues, fans, and family during his challenging ordeal. This support played a crucial role in his recovery and reaffirmed the importance of maintaining open and honest communication with loved ones.
Solid Star also recently opened up about the reasons behind his three-year musical hiatus.
In a candid interview, the renowned musician, known for hits like “One in a Million” and “Shaba,” shared details of a dark period in his life characterized by mental health struggles and substance abuse.
Solid Star disclosed that he was introduced to drugs, specifically “ice,” in 2021, which had a profound impact on his mental well-being, leading him to the brink of despair. The singer revealed experiencing a severe mental breakdown that nearly caused him to lose his sanity.
