Solid Star talks about his experience with hard drugs
Nigerian artist Joshua Iniyezo, professionally known as Solid Star Isoko, recently opened up about the reasons behind his three-year musical hiatus.
In a candid interview, the renowned musician, known for hits like “One in a Million” and “Shaba,” shared details of a dark period in his life characterized by mental health struggles and substance abuse.
Solid Star disclosed that he was introduced to drugs, specifically “ice,” in 2021, which had a profound impact on his mental well-being, leading him to the brink of despair. The singer revealed experiencing a severe mental breakdown that nearly caused him to lose his sanity.
During this challenging time, Solid Star recounted undertaking a significant journey on foot, trekking from Awoyaya to the Oriental Hotel. Awoyaya, a neighbourhood in Lagos, is notably distant from the Oriental Hotel in Lekki.
The open confession from Solid Star sheds light on the struggles that celebrities frequently keep hidden. His experience serves as a powerful reminder of the dangers of substance addiction and the significance of mental health awareness. Although Solid Star’s health has not been updated, fans remain optimistic about his full recuperation and wellbeing.
